voteFOX Momentum
Judge Fox normally posts to the campaign website to keep us up to date. While he is out refueling Air Fox One for yet another trip we wanted to catch you up on the campaign’s progress. Over the last eight months campaigning Tim has often said he believes if he stays on his side of the bench in the courtroom that all sides should be able to support him. He has carried that concept into his nonpartisan campaigning. At every speaking opportunity, whether to Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, or independent groups Judge Fox has delivered the same, consistent message. It is an honest, forthright message about his work ethic, the work ethic of his staff, professionalism, his gratitude for the job he presently has, and the reasons he thinks he would make a good Supreme Court Justice.
Tim has been right, and the voteFOX Momentum is starting to really roll. Over 350 attorneys statewide have authorized the use of their names in connection with his campaign. More than 500 individuals and businesses, large and small, have contributed to the campaign.
Tim is the only judicial candidate in any race in the State who is being supported by both the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Labor. Last week he handily won a straw poll conducted by the Washington County Senior Democrats. That same week a special committee of the state Republican Party chosen to vet the qualifications of all of the judicial candidates determined that Tim is the preferred candidate in his race. The reason given had nothing to do with partisan politics, it was because he was determined to have the most trial experience. And just today Judge Fox received the AR Times endorsement.
We’re not sure we’ve ever seen a judicial candidate who has received the broad range of support that Judge Fox is enjoying. He has applied himself just as hard to being a good public servant as he did during the decades he was in private practice. There are many reasons he has twice been voted Judge of the Year in his practice area by the attorneys who appear before him. He believes in our legal system, and has expressed his pride in the sense of civic duty shown by the men and women who have served in the more than 250 jury trials he’s conducted since first elected. We’re not sure where he found time to teach on the faculty of the National Judicial College, to be asked to teach new Arkansas judges, to receive awards for his programs for the AR Bar Association, and to become the first judge in Arkansas history to earn a Master of Judicial Studies. But with the support of his family and friends he’s done all of that and more.
Early voting starts this upcoming Monday, May 3rd. The judicial races are down ballot so it is very important that you vote for Tim and encourage all of your family, friends, and business acquaintances to do the same.
POLL WORKERS NEEDED!
If you’ve already signed up we will be in touch with you in the next few days. If you have time to work all or part of 7:30 am to 7:30 pm Election Day please email us at info@timfoxforsupremecourt.com and tell us your city.
NW AR Straw Poll Has Fox Campaign As Winner
A Northwest Arkansas Straw Poll conducted this week had the Judge Tim Fox Campaign winning 58% of the votes. The closest competitor was down at 37%, a 21 point spread. Thanks to all working in the campaign in NWA and across the State. A good result, and between now and Election Day we can do even better.
SOME EXCELLENT CAMPAIGN TRAVELIN’
So, Tuesday, good friend and efficient campaigner Sam Ledbetter led the way South. We visited Fordyce on the way to a Rotary speech in Warren, then on to El Dorado and finishing up in Camden before returning home. Wednesday, to the Delta for a great visit coordinated by Chuck Roscopf. We visited all around Phillips County and I finished up the evening at the West Memphis Oyster Supper. Well over a 1,000 folk squeezed into the dining hall. Fun and food were in abundance. Thursday we headed up to Fayetteville for a luncheon and a fundraiser at the Hog Haus. Another successful excursion as evidenced by the attached photo (which of the hard-hearted among you is going to argue with that?)
THE SLOVAK OYSTER SUPPER ROCKS!
The ice came, the sleet came, the entirely sensible warnings came, … and we went. Undaunted other than mph-wise the Campaign Advance Team made its way east on I-40 to Slovak for one of the truly fun stops on the Campaign Trail – Winter Edition. Undeterred by the jacknifed tandems and assigning “black ice” to the realm of existentialist propaganda, we made it first to the K house for really remarkable food and socializing. Homemade kielbasa, and grilled brisket and pork tenderloin. I have dropped a few lbs on the trail, but gladly put them all back on. Five times around the groaning board I went.
We then went to the Oyster Supper proper. Normally the line is an hour long to get in the Hall but it was a walkup due to the weather. The food inside was excellent as well. Basically it’s all the oysters, fried and/or raw, you can eat with plenty of trimmings. A well done event for a worthy cause.
If you ever get a chance to go – TAKE IT! The tickets are hard to come by though.
Took a picture of a washed up WWF 3-man tag team. They were looking for a nigh bankrupt carnival that might could use their particular skill set – whatever that might be. They would only give me their professional wrestling names – Smiley, “The Thinker,” and Beaver. Go figure.
The Campaign Had A Great First Report, Let’s Keep It Going.
I know you are accustomed to reading Judge Fox’s posts and updates, but as this one relates to campaign finance, we’re posting it on behalf of the campaign. The response to Tim’s candidacy, statewide, has been substantial. The only formal events to date were the Campaign Kickoff and one other fundraiser in Little Rock. Even with only two formal events, the Campaign reported contributions and candidate loans totaling $176,000.00.
We are finalizing the details for fundraisers and meet and greet events in Fayetteville, Jonesboro, and Pine Bluff. We have also begun working on details for similar events in several other cities.
As good a beginning as it is, the Campaign has a long way to go to achieve the budgeted amount that will allow us to effectively get the message out statewide concerning Tim’s candidacy. Even though judicial campaigns are nonpartisan, the television and radio advertising costs are the same as in other types of races. You don’t need to wait for a campaign event to contribute, we have Paypal set up on this website under the “Contribute” button. On Tim’s behalf, if you’ve already made a contribution, we say thank you. If you’re thinking about it, we encourage you to contribute now, May 18th is fast approaching.
